I have been a fan of Bitchypoo – a personal journal of an incredible cat lady for years, almost for as long as the journal exists. She just celebrated the 10th anniversary of journaling, so that’s a long time and believe me – the Bitchypoo site is only getting better and better. Robyn, the cat fanatic behind the blog is a great writer and has a wonderful way of describing her life and the numerous animals that surround her. The daily doses of cute photos of her cats and animals from around Robyn and her husband’s mini farm just make the journal even better.
Wanna see for yourself? You can find Robyn at: Bitchypoo. Enjoy.

Cat Magnet
I already mentioned that I love painting cats. I am fascinated by the beauty of cats, especially their eyes. As an illustration I am showing you a cat magnet decorated with a print of my original cat painting. It would make a
cute fridge magnet for a cat lover’s kitchen.

Cat Art Fridge Magnet
I have to admit… I am not a cat person. I’m not quite sure why, but I think one childhood experience had something to do with it. My parents took me with them when they visited with friends who had a lot of cats living in their house. I remember the cats running around the living room uncontrollably and suddenly jumping on the sofa where I was sitting. It happened many years ago, but I can still clearly remember feeling that I was being attacked by cats. It’s entirely possible that the cats just wanted to play, but to me it was a terrifying experience and I never really got over it. To this day, I can’t say I am really in love with cats.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate cats and I am not afraid of them. I am just not crazy about them. Still, I think they are beautiful. They are, in fact, my favorite painting subjects. I love to paint and draw cats. I am forever inspired by the beautiful cat eyes, the elegant figure and beautiful fur. The painting above is one of my cat paintings featured on a fridge magnet. Isn’t she just adorable?

Today I had a not so pleasant conversation with a lady that is a local self proclaimed dog savior. She feeds stray dogs and thinks they should be left to live in the streets as opposed to taken to shelters and rescued.
She proudly mentioned that she or her children were never been, ever so much as growled at, let alone attacked by dogs. She explained that dogs love her and her family because they are good people. She claimed that all dogs know if we are good or bad. If they are barking at someone that person can be nothing but a bad person.
I objected to that ridiculous claim immediately. She didn’t care to hear my arguments, so the conversation ended quickly.
Sadly, this wasn’t the first time I heard people say things like that. I hate it because it’s untrue, alienates people and make dogs sound like very cruel judgmental beings which they certainly are not. Dogs are so much better than that and human characters are way too complex to be sorted into two simple piles anyway.

I don’t think I’ll ever stop writing about spaying and neutering of pets. It’s that important and I am dedicated to raising the awareness of this important practice both in real life and here on the net. For that reason, here are two pro spay neuter designs.
The first is showcased on a sticker.

pro spay neuter sticker
I think that would make a great spay neuter bumper sticker. It’s also available on spay neuter shirts.
The second design is sporting the same slogan, but in a different, bolder style. I am going to show it to you on a woman’s shirt, but it’s also available on various other styles of spay neuter t shirts and other merchandise like stickers, magnets, etc. Here’s the shirt:

For me, it’s very important to use every opportunity to promote spaying and neutering. During the years I have found that slogans on shirts, stickers or mugs are great conversation starters and an excellent way to reach people. The ones I’ve shown you above were made exactly for that reason and I truly hope they will do it’s small part in saving some innocent pets’ lives.

This little puppy was found all alone and abandoned behind a grocery store. Some heartless person just left him there. He is now safe and taken care of, but the big question is why he was there in the first place.
This poor puppy was obviously not wanted. If his mom was spayed and his dad neutered he would not have been born and he wouldn’t have been abandoned just a few weeks into his life. It breaks my heart that this little creature was made to suffer because humans were not responsible enough either to prevent his birth or take good care of him after he was born.
This little guy is just one of the thousands of unwanted puppies born every day around the globe. He will live, but most of the others won’t be so lucky and they will die due to lack of care or maybe they’ll be euthanized. Lets not forget that it’s not just the dogs. This is as big of a problem for cats.
The point of this post… Be responsible – spay/neuter your pets and inspire others to do the same.

…is a mutt – mixed breed dog or simply said dog without an official breed. Some people don’t really like the term mutt, but I think it’s all right. Mixed bred dogs are just as cute and precious as fancy breed dogs. What I love most about them is the variety of shapes, sizes and colors. No trace of the boring predictability of designer dogs. Don’t get me wrong, I do like dogs with breeds – they are great. It’s just that mutts are more interesting.
